Prosys OPC Case Studies

CASE VALIO

Product quality and traceability requirements are at a very high level at Valio, consequently efficient and reliable data transfer between different systems is crucial. To meet this need Prosys developed integration software between automation and manufacturing execution systems, based on the OPC UA standard.

CASE ADPAP

Prosys designed and developed with Adpap a recipe handling application, which is used to manage the recipes of chemical processes. The application provides a web browser based user interface for defining the ingredients, production units and process cells of a chemical plant. The implementation is based on Delphi and Prosys Sentrol, a leading SDK (software development kit) for OPC client, server and application development.

CASE METSO

Prosys and Metso have developed a Windows application for management of intelligent valve controllers. Using smart adaptive algorithms, the application can use information from OPC servers of various FOUNDATION fieldbus compatible automation systems such as Metso, ABB, Emerson, Honeywell, Yokogawa and National Instruments. The implementation is based on Delphi and Prosys OPC SDK Sentrol, a leading SDK (software development kit) for OPC client, server and application development. In another project a communication module for machine vision system was developed.

CASE SYMBOTICWARE

Symboticware offers a real-time intelligent monitoring system that operates in rugged environments. Symboticware's platform offers bi-directionality, store-and-forward, data-standardization and remote configuration capabilities. The SymBot platform is a rugged, versatile and low power hardware/software device for monitoring and decision support applications. It complies with open standards for industrial automation and systems interoperability. Symboticware chose Prosys OPC UA Java SDK for implementing an OPC UA Server to the SymBot platform.

CASE KLG SYSTEL

KLG Systel Ltd. is a high-tech company quoted on the NSE (India) and the Luxembourg Exchange, Europe. Connectgaia.com is the product of KLG Systel's R&D, a smart energy management solution which provides user, whether industrial, commercial or utility, many advantages through powerful reports and in-built control methods. When developing new OPC UA communications, KLG Systel carried out Proof of Concept and selected Prosys OPC UA Java SDK.

CASE NESTE JACOBS

Neste Jacobs is the Nordic region’s leading provider of technology, engineering and project services for the oil and gas, biorefining, petrochemicals and chemicals industries, including also the utilities and life science sectors. Prosys OPC Services has worked with Neste Jacobs to add the new OPC UA communication protocol to Advanced Process Control system and real-time process database.

CASE NEXTNINE

NextNine’s mission is to improve the performance of its customers’ service organizations via automated, proactive, remote product service. NextNine Virtual Support Engineer (VSE) is a Java based software that is extremely flexible and can be “programmed” to monitor various components of the supported product, including applications, operating systems, databases and network components. Prosys OPC UA Java SDK was the choice of NextNine for implementing an OPC UA client within the VSE.

CASE POWERSYSLAB

This case presents the experience of PowerSysLab when using Prosys OPC SDK Sentrol to integrate its DTS (Dispatcher Training Simulator) to a SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) platform, through a partnership with the companies Elipse Software, which develops the Elipse E3 and Sul Engenharia which integrates and installs power systemcontrol centers.
